Hi, I’m Laurie!

As a professional keynote speaker, certified executive coach, and leadership development consultant, I’m on a mission to change workplace cultures and rid the world of bad management practices.

There’s no shortage of bad managers in the world.

So today’s leaders need modern practices to support their teams more than ever.

As it turns out, when you treat people as humans —  with needs, goals, and emotions — they perform better, stay longer, and feel fulfilled by the time they clock out. I’m determined to bust all the myths of traditional leadership practices and prove there’s a better way.

My story

Bridging the gap between personal and professional fulfillment

By 30 years old, I was a vice president of organizational development and human resources at a credit union that was growing fast.

Although we were rated as “best place to work”, some outdated practices and management approaches were clashing with the company’s vision. In 2008, I launched  my consulting company on a mission to modernize leadership practices.

For years I pushed against the grain only to hit a ceiling.

By 2008, I’d made up my mind. I launched my consulting company to show others the power of positive workplace culture all on my own.

Like many women face at some point in their career, I eventually took on my most challenging role yet: motherhood.

I quickly learned how easy it is to crumble under the demands of managing a team and a family. Some days I feel like a rockstar—being super productive at work and being home in time for dinner. Other days I feel like I’m hanging by a thread—dealing with interruptions and emergencies at work, trying to get those camp forms in on time, picking up a sick child, and making brownies for the school play. It can all feel overwhelming and exhausting.

I believe we can have a thriving professional and personal life, and part of that is cultivating workplaces where employees feel supported, and where they can bring their best selves to work every day. I teach leaders strategies and tools for managing a team at work, while also having the time and space to enjoy life outside of work.
